What Is the Prostate?
The prostate is a gland in the male reproductive system that produces the prostatic fluid that mixes with sperm to form ejaculate (or semen). Located in front of the rectum, between the bladder and the penis, the prostate includes muscles that expel semen through the urethra during ejaculation.
